Many private healthcare contractors and companies are entering the healthcare market in the UK. This has not gone too well with a number of communities as they do not want a situation where they have to pay for healthcare services. However, it has not stopped the privatisation of certain healthcare services in several parts of the country. Now, Sodexo has entered the UK healthcare market to provide private home care to the elderly in a more focused manner.
The company announced that it has acquired Prestige Nursing + Care and its network of 44 branches spread across the UK. Prestige Nursing offers superior-quality, customised home care to seniors who have to pay for the services. The acquisition will allow Prestige Nursing to get access to global home care agencies and their best practices. It will also allow Sodexo, a leading healthcare services provider, to take advantage of the growing demand for social care services in the country and make Prestige Nursing more innovative and result-oriented.
Sodexo already has a presence in the private home care market in the UK. The latest acquisition will consolidate its position and further its brand, Comfort Keepers. The brand has offices in 700 different locations across the world and is renowned for offering high-quality home care to adults and seniors.
Prestige Nursing + Care Managing Director Jonathan Bruce will stay on after the acquisition, announced Sodexo.
Bruce said that the acquisition will allow Prestige Nursing to expand its business in an innovative manner. It will also ensure that its clients lead an independent life while living in comfort and security at home.
Sodexo Global Home Care Chief Executive Officer Sarosh Mistry stated that the company’s goal is to help seniors to enjoy independence and comfort at home as they age. It helps to improve the quality of life not only for the seniors but also for their families.
